BERKELEY, CALIF. (PRWEB) MARCH 08, 2023
Wondering About Weed, a leading cannabis resource and information company for the canna-curious, is excited to present Spring Forward: Sunday Brunch, an interactive afternoon of delicious curated food and panel discussions. This event allows anyone from the curious and novice to experienced consumers to meet with experts from across the cannabis spectrum in a lovely Berkeley setting to engage in a nuanced discussion about the cannabis landscape now that adult-use legalization has been in place for 7 years. Spring Forward: Sunday Brunch takes place March 26, 12:30-4:00 pm, at Tarocco, 2570 Ninth Avenue in Berkeley. Tickets are selling fast. Tickets, and discounts, are on sale now through March 22, 2023.
“We’re jazzed about our Spring Forward brunch and to reconnect in person with the larger canna-curious community,” said Kaisha-Dyan McMillan, cannabis journalist, content creator, and co-founder of Wondering About Weed. “Seven years after California legalized marijuana, and coming out of three years of pandemic, we have a lot to discuss about what the new chapter of cannabis means for consumers.”
Highlights of Spring Forward: Sunday Brunch include:
- Delicious mediterranean brunch with bottomless mimosas
- An interactive cannabis panel featuring Jamie Evans, aka The Herb Somm; Emily Gogol, owner of Grow It from Home, a commercial cannabis grower; a representative from Seven Stars dispensary; and other fascinating cannabis tastemakers
- Mini workshops on topics including how to grow at home and mindful consumption
- Signature Wondering About Weed goodie bag
- This is a non-consumption event
Spring Forward-Sunday Brunch is being presented amid various opportunities and challenges impacting the California cannabis industry. For example, the California Department of Cannabis Control’s marijuana regulators launched a first-of-its-kind grant program to support cities and counties in establishing local cannabis business licensing programs to address unmet consumer demand and help curb the illicit market.
At the same time, legal retailers continue to struggle with onerous taxes, regulations, and competition from the illegal market. Challenges will persist throughout 2023, including a slump in wholesale and retail cannabis prices.
“These are just a few developments that may affect how we use and engage with cannabis,” said Penny Barthel, author of The Cannabis Gardener [Ten Speed Press, 2021] and co-founder of Wondering About Weed. “But one thing is certain: we’ve entered a new era of cannabis use that the canna-curious community wants to understand, and Spring Forward: Sunday Brunch will help them sort it out in a fun, judgment-free environment.”
